It’s hard to believe it’s only been six days since our little girl was born! It has been such an exciting time and I can only imagine what the future holds. We’ve been very fortunate so far; she’s eating great, we’re getting a reasonable amount of sleep, and we’ve had a lot of support.
Yesterday we went for our first car ride, which was quite an adventure. We drove to Nordstrom and Ellie and I waited in the car while Brian went inside. Then we drove to a couple of neighborhoods to scope them out for a potential future residence. Nothing serious yet, but just thought it would be fun to look. Ellie was a champ, but did get hungry along the way and she had a huge bright yellow poo. For those of you without kids, apparently this is a very normal color for newborn poo – fascinating, I know!
This morning we went to our first doctor’s appointment at Ballard Pediatrics, which is incredibly close to our house. Ellie was pretty good there as well and the check up was fantastic. Everything is looking great and Dr. Allen even mentioned that Brian and I looked better than most new parents he sees. That meant a lot to us, as we obviously are not used to this sleep schedule and are learning things every day about our newborn. Ellie grew 1/2 inch to 20.5 inches, which means she’s in the 80th percentile. She also lost a little weight, so now she’s 7 lbs., 11 ounces, in the 75th percentile. Her head circumference is normal, in the 50th percentile.
Yeah for yellow poo! Lol! Looks like you three are settling in beautifully. I can’t believe this pic-precious! It always amazes how from one day to the next when they are newborns their expressions change. I could just eat her-what a little muffin.

Ellie looks beautiful & happy, but what can you expect with such great parents. I’m so glad you are really enjoying this new adventure as parents. I do remember the yellow poo, even tho it has been a long time. It looks like all 3 of you are having a good time. Love U
